Beating Bowel Cancer chooses Octopus Group to launch the Decembeard campaign

Octopus Group announces it’s been appointed by the charity, Beating Bowel Cancer to run this year’s digital Decembeard marketing campaign, to raise funds for the charity.

Bowel cancer is the UK’s second biggest cancer killer. Sadly, somebody dies every 30 minutes from bowel cancer, and somebody is diagnosed every 15 minutes. Yet if diagnosed early, more than 90% of cases can be treated successfully.

All funds raised for the charity are used to provide practical and emotional help to those affected face to face, digitally or over the phone, with the UK’s only nurse-led specialised helpline for bowel cancer. The charity also campaigns to ensure governments and health services provide the highest quality treatments and care for bowel cancer patients.

That’s why the Decembeard campaign was created with the aim of raising funds and awareness to help those affected by bowel cancer. The campaign encourages people to sign up and grow their beards in support.

Octopus Group is coordinating a widespread digital marketing campaign across the UK using a combination of paid advertising and organic social to spread awareness, drive fundraising sign-ups and boost donations.

Bill McIntyre, Client Director at Octopus Group comments: “We’re very excited to be working with Beating Bowel Cancer. Not only is it a really interesting marketing campaign, it’s also for a great cause.”

Richard Yorke, Fundraising Consultant at Beating Bowel Cancer adds: “We’re really eager to make this year’s Decembeard campaign the most successful one yet. During the pitch process Octopus Group, was clearly the right partner to make this happen for us, particularly with their experience and specialism in running similar digital marketing campaigns. We’re really excited to see the results.”

Not only is Octopus Group coordinating the campaign, it’s also taking the Decembeard challenge, to really get behind the charity and support such a fantastic cause. If you want to get involved in the fun, there is still time to sign up or make a donation!
