Decembeard: Trials and Tribulations

The Christmas period has ended, the New Year is in full swing, and most of our beards have vanished. We fondly wave goodbye to the hairy month of Decembeard and say hello to 2018. But first, let’s take the time to reflect on how we got on during our highly amusing Decembeard challenge.

Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to get the “final week 4” picture, due to the Christmas break. However, we have an artist’s impression of how the team looked.

But we did manage to get Giles Shorthouse, Business Development Manager to shave his beard to replicate the famous Craig David 90s beard. He offered his face to beat his fundraising target and succeeded! If you’ve still got some dosh left in your pocket, make sure you donate to him here.

Giles “David” commented: “Re-e-e-e-e-e-wind when the crowd say bo selecta-ta”.

We even managed to persuade Founder, Sandy Purewal to keep his beard with a landslide online poll (21 votes to 0) as it looked so good. If you know Sandy, you’ll know he has been clean shaven ever since he could spell “Brand to Sales”. Great effort Sandy!

Our Christmas party also got some of our Octopede’s in the dazzling bearded spirit. With Client Director, Toby Brown, wearing a spectacular glitter beard to dance the night away.

Finally, we’d love to give a shout-out to all the Octopede’s that took part and to everyone who sponsored us. Together we have managed to raise over £700 to help those affected by bowel cancer. Our JustGiving page allows you to donate up until the 31st January. If you’ve got any spare cash, please please please sponsor our furry faces here.
