Post-Event: How to turn your employees into brand advocates

Last Tuesday our Client Strategy Director, Billy Hamilton-Stent, spoke at a PRmoment event about how businesses can turn their staff into a communication asset – check out his deck from the event. The event took place at The Century Club in London and was attended by in-house corporate comms professionals. During his talk, Billy spoke about using social media to build a culture of brand advocacy across the business through:

  • A persona-based analysis of key stakeholders – what really makes them tick and how to tap into it to gain their support
  • Gamifying social media to unify the whole company in promoting the brand through social selling
  • Making brand evangelists of senior execs that currently have limited engagement with the rest of the team

After the presentation, Billy was joined by Jessica Brookes (Diversity & Inclusion Director, Europe, Avanade), Lottie Gunn (Leader Internal Comms Practice, Ellwood and Atfield and previously Head of Internal Comms, BAE) and Julie McCallum (EMEA Communications Manager, CA) for a panel discussion on:

  • The most successful techniques for maximising the positivity of employees
  • Whether company culture is still the most important element of internal communications
  • The role of technology in employee engagement
  • The most effective employee roles in external communications
  • Coordinating the efforts of the comms team, the sales team and the HR department
