SSE Enterprise Telecoms appoints Octopus Group to enhance brand awareness and drive sales

SSE Enterprise Telecoms is a leading UK provider of class-leading connectivity and data centre services. The company sits within the Enterprise division of SSE Group, a FTSE top 35 organisation and one of the UK’s largest suppliers of electricity and gas as well as other energy-related services.

We were approached by SSE Enterprise Telecoms to develop an integrated marketing and comms programme which would target UK service providers and enterprise customers. SSE has a well-established profile in the telecoms market, with fantastic network infrastructure and services as well as a roster of impressive customers. But it plays in a crowded sector alongside a number of other sizeable brands. SSE needed an agency that could bring new ideas to the table and some fresh perspectives.

Katie Ireland, Head of Marketing Communications, SSE Enterprise Telecoms, said: “Top of our priority list was finding an agency that could combine a thorough understanding of our business with the ability to create engaging and insightful thought leadership viewpoints. We want campaigns that inject personality into our brand. We really liked the Brand to Sales approach. Our brief started out focusing on PR and social, but we quickly saw how an agency with an integrated approach could join the dots between PR, social, content marketing and sales.”
