The Power of Wow! Fundraising Auction At Octopus HQ
It is a real treat to be reminded of the calibre of the people you work with. Last night, I was served that reminder in spades. Octopus Group hosted an auction event to help with my efforts to raise money for the Royal London Society for Blind People (RLSB).
This took the shape of #obay, an auction event where colleagues could bid for the time, skills and resources of other colleagues for a good cause.
My Dadathon blog tells you about the charity and how important it is for my family.
It’s amazing what you can achieve with a good idea and some great people. That’s pretty much how the whole of Octopus Group ticks. When that stuff shows up outside the pitches, deadlines and ‘must-dos’ of the working day, it’s all the more poignant. It’s in the DNA of the business then, not in the briefs and budgets of a demanding professional life. Very cool.
I am running the London Marathon on 26th April to raise money for the RLSB. There’s an interesting ‘foot courier’ service being offered by me and some work buddies on 16th April for anyone in the London area with parcels that need delivering – all part of the fund raising efforts! If you want to support either event and keep our charity ball rolling, please get involved!
