UK fintech success story, Currencycloud, chooses Octopus Group for retained comms

By admin on 22nd August 2017

We’ve been appointed as Currencycloud’s retained comms agency, responsible for EMEA PR and content marketing campaigns, to help build brand awareness and drive demand across the region.

Currencycloud is one of the UK’s biggest fintech success stories and is targeting significant global growth. Octopus Group will be responsible for aggressively building its profile, alongside Bateman in the US, to fuel its rapid domestic and international expansion. Another key objective for both agencies will be building awareness of Currencycloud as a technology leader beyond fintech – engaging business and technology decision-makers globally.

Currencycloud is re-imagining the way money flows through the global digital economy, removing the friction and inefficiencies of traditional cross-border payments. Its payment platform and flexible APIs provide the building blocks for the next generation of business payment innovations. Launched in 2012, it counts the likes of Travelex, Revolut and Klarna as valued customers.

Toby Brown, Client Director at Octopus Group, comments: “Currencycloud is one of a new breed of technology businesses, providing a platform for many of the most exciting new payment innovations of the last five years. We’re hugely excited about the appointment and are looking forward to helping the business achieve its ambitious growth plans. They loved our ideas and we can’t wait to deliver them.”

Helen Aboagye, VP Marketing at Currencycloud, adds: “We’ve got huge ambitions to continue our exponential growth internationally, and during the pitch process, Octopus Group seemed like the natural partner to help us make it happen. Its Brand To Sales methodology, linking brand awareness to lead generation and sales, with an ability to extend their campaigns across all our channels if we need it, was the perfect fit for a business like ours. Their creativity and commercial thinking also really set them apart.”
